Compatriot Harold Gonzalez represented both the Louisiana Society, Sons of the American Revolution (LASSAR) and the Dr. Enemund Meullion Chapter during the Patriot Grave Marking Ceremony honoring Commodore Alexander Gillon on May 31, 2026. Commodore Gillon, commander of the South Carolina Navy, played a pivotal role in cooperating with Bernardo de Gálvez during the American Revolution, most notably in the successful capture of the Bahamas.
Compatriot Gonzalez attended in uniform, served with the Color Guard, presented the wreath, and delivered remarks highlighting the historic cooperation between the American forces and Spain. The ceremony was recognized as an America 250 event and was attended by approximately 50 participants.
