Welcome to the Louisiana Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Website
For example, we are thrilled to share that due to LASSAR’s initiative, in 2026 a new patriotic, educational and civic monument will be installed on the grounds of the Capitol Park Museum in Baton Rouge. This wonderful granite and bronze lighted display of our nation’s “Charters of Freedom” will be provided by Foundation Forward, Inc. in cooperation with Louisiana’s Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser. The outdoor monument will house a full-scale replica of the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, and the Bill of Rights as displayed in the National Archives building in Washington D.C.
We invite you to participate with us and become a member of the SAR. The process is likely much easier than you think, and we are committed to helping you. Simply contact any member on this site, and we’ll be glad to assist you.

If my conduct… has merited the confidence of my fellow citizens…
I owe it to that supreme being who guides the hearts of all;
who has so graciously been pleased to bestow on me
the greatest of earthly rewards: the… affections of a free
people.
George Washington December 22, 1783 to the Mayor of Annapolis.
To my fellow Compatriots:
It is with similar sentiments to those expressed above by George Washington that I assume the role of President of the Louisiana Society of the SAR in service to you for the 2026-2027 term. Thank you for your trust and confidence.
The revolutionary war began on April 19, 1775 with a shot heard around the world at the battles of Lexington and Concord. The war officially ended on September 3, 1783 with the signing of the Treaty of Paris. Thus, we are now within the second year of commemorating the 250th anniversary of our patriot ancestors’ eight year long struggle for liberty. Their declaration of “INDEPENDENCE” on the 4th of July 1776 marks 2026 as a jubilee year - our Republic’s 250th anniversary.
What better time could there be to highlight the SAR brand by promoting patriotism, serving our communities, and educating and inspiring students. Therefore, Compatriots, allow me to challenge you to take the initiative and acquire a colonial uniform or period attire and earnestly support your chapter as it plans and implements its lofty goals for 2026-2027. Consider joining your chapter in…
- Hosting a Boston Tea Party Tea Tasting event, sharing the history while serving attendees of all ages the five teas thrown overboard during the Boston Tea Party.
- Conducting a Patriot Chest school demonstration using the newly approved and forthcoming LASSAR traveling Patriot Chest.
- Forming a Chapter Color Guard and posting colors during community events.
- Participating in a Liberty Tree planting ceremony.
- Presenting Flag Certificates and Good Citizenship Medals to deserving residences.
- Recognizing first responders and Veterans for their outstanding service.
- Encouraging students to participate in each of the five SAR youth contests and recruiting teachers for the SAR History Teacher contest.
- Supporting and recognizing local Boy Scout, JROTC, and ROTC programs.
- Providing speakers for various community events and educational programs.
- Conducting or participating in historic commemorations and America 250 events.
- Hosting chapter meetings, banquets, and social events inviting prospective members, guests, and guest speakers.
- Participating in Flag Day, Memorial Day, and Wreaths Across America ceremonies.
- And enjoying this year’s 4th of July parades and celebrations.
With these and many other events and activities 2026-2027 will no doubt be a fun and exciting year for each Compatriot, Chapter, and the Louisiana Society as a whole. Let’s make the most of this unique period as we celebrate together and recognize the legacy of our ancestors.
Thank you for your continued volunteer service, for your unwavering trust in your Board of Directors, and for your confidence in me.
Blessings,
Steve Kubicek
